The opening of Pharrell Williams’ The Goodtime hotel marks the musician’s first entry into the hotel industry. He teamed up with hospitality entrepreneur David Grutman and developer Eric Birnbaum for the new establishment. “Being in there is like being in a Wes Anderson film.”
The hotel is located on Washington Avenue in Miami’s South Beach and is scheduled to open its doors sometime in early 2021. The building was under construction for the last three years, with architect Morris Adjmi taking on the designs. It features seven stories, 266 rooms, a workout area, a pool deck, a recording studio, and 45,000 square feet of retail space.
“It’s good vibes, good energy, good karma, good food, good music, good environment, good vibration,” notes Pharrell. “Come there one way, and then you leave vibrating. We call it spiritual Wi-Fi.”
